Book Project
ORA is working with the Oregon Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation to update the library resources available to patients with arthritis and fibromyalgia. ORA has placed over 115 sets of five of the most up-to-date books on these topics in public libraries across Oregon. So far, $8000 has been raised. The donated titles include:
The Arthritis Foundation's guide to Alternative Therapies by Judith Horstman
Your Personal Guide to Living with Fibromyalgia
The Arthritis Foundation's Guide to Good Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis
The Arthritis Foundation's Guide to Good Living with Osteoarthritis
The Arthritis Helpbook by Kate Lorig, RN, Dr.P.H. and James F. Fries, M.D.
To continue to educate patients and families living with arthritic disease, ORA is worked to place an additional book on Osteoporosis in each library. The Osteoporosis Book; A Guide for Patients and their Families by Dr Nancy E. Lane was later donated to libraries in every county across Oregon.
